Each listing provides everything you need to make an informed decision, including:

• Equipment description
• Security deposit (if applicable)
• Photos
• Availability calendar
• Daily, weekend or weekly hire rates
• Pickup and return details
• Owner profile

3 Submit Your Booking Request

Choose your hire dates and submit a booking request. The equipment owner will review your request and may:

• Accept the booking
• Contact you through the secure messaging system if additional information is required
• Decline the booking

4 Secure Payment

Once your booking is approved, payment is processed securely through Stripe, our trusted payment system.

Depending on the listing, this may include:

• Hire fees
• Security deposit (held where applicable)
• Consumable fee (if applicable)

Your payment information is encrypted and securely processed.

5 Collect Your Equipment

Meet the owner at the agreed pickup location

Before taking the equipment:

• Inspect it carefully
• Take equipment condition photos
• Confirm its condition.
• Good high-resolution photos
• Ask any operating or safety questions.
• Specific photos of any wear & tea
• Ensure you understand how to use it safely.
• Images must be time & date stamped in unlikely case of any dispute

Equipment will require identification before collection.

6 Enjoy Your Hire

Use the equipment responsibly and only for its intended purpose

Please:

• Follow all safety instructions
• Take reasonable care of the equipmen
• Wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) where required.
• Report any faults or damage immediately.

7 Return on Time

Return the equipment clean, complete and by the agreed return time. Late returns may incur additional hire charges unless otherwise agreed with the owner.

8 Inspection & Deposit Release

In the presence of the Owner:

• Inspect the equipment
• Take equipment condition photos
• Good high-resolution photos
• Specific photos of any wear & tea
• Images must be time & date stamped in unlikely case of any dispute

The owner will inspect the equipment in your presence after it is returned.

If everything is returned in good condition, any applicable security deposit will be released in accordance with our deposit policy.

If damage or missing items are identified, the owner may lodge a claim through the Local Hire Marketplace resolution process

7 Leave a Review

After your booking is complete, both the hirer and the equipment owner can leave a review. Honest reviews help build trust within the community and assist future users in making informed hiring decisions.
